Hey guys! It's the end of the week! Wow so much can happen.... flu's, appointments, meetings and all that hectic stuff. So I decided to sit down and create another mashup. You may be starting to see a trend with my recipes... That is, I am obsessed with putting two things together to create double the hype. E.g. gingerbread meet sticky date, caramel popcorn meet PBJ and now pretzels meet donuts!! Why not?!
These aren't your typical soft pretzels. The ones you buy in small markets do the trick on busy cold Saturdays but many of them struggle to live up to their soft pretzel name. So, I decided to create a recipe where the soft in soft pretzel is actually a thing :P
Also, who doesn't know a Nutella addict? One of my friends brought the most gorgeous mini Nutella jar into school which got me thinking..... there needs to be more recipes dedicated to those addicts out there! Check out the cuteness of these mini Nutella jars..... however you may be needing a jar more this size if you start making this recipe!
The dough is typically known as a brioche dough. This means it is harder to shape them into pretzels however the end result is a very light, soft and buttery pretzel. Your kitchen will literally smell like a bakery (so my mum said)!
If you struggle shaping the dough, don't give up as you will get better as you go. My first few turned out like snowmen, however this just means more for hovering family... the perfect ones are too good to destroy anyway :D I don't believe in failures in the kitchen. Everything has imperfections and each imperfection is the stepping stone to getting it perfect. I make all my bread dough in my Kitchen aid using a dough hook. You are welcome to knead the bread by hand however I highly recommend using this mixer or similar for the fluffiest pretzels.
Serve these up for guests after a long day out or take them to eat around a campfire somewhere! Whatever, whenever or however, I'm sure they'll go down a treat...
Have a great weekend.... Xx, Bea
